Colin Firth was featured on "60 Minutes" Sunday night. Next Sunday I hope to be watching when he skips up the stairs of the Kodak theatre and accepts his Best Actor Oscar. And please, Mr. Firth -- never bring up the 'drag queen' thing again. I'll never get that image out of my mind.

It's Valentine's Day! My idea of romance is everything that I learned in the movies from Doris Day. It looks good, but how real can it be when the object of your desire is a tall, dark and handsome gay man? So I moved on. I found an online list of TOP TEN ROMANTIC ESCAPES -- which I would find a lot more interesting if number #10 wasn't Dubrovnik. Croatia in February? Seriously? So I skipped over to the New York Times in search of fun love and I found cupid. At least, it made me laugh. And isn't that what Valentine's Day is really all about.

Take A Little Break

It's just one of those days. It's February. It's cold and sunny here, but dreary and snowy in other parts of the world. Things just don't seem so cheerful. I'm in need of an escape. So I wandered over to VanityFair.com where I found a lengthy feature article starring one of my favorites -- the lovely Lauren Bacall. Turns out, Betty, as she's known to her friends, was a big fan of Bette Davis in her youth. That may be the only thing that she and I have in common. But that didn't prevent me from gobbling up every bit of this interview like it was a dark, rich chocolate bar. You'll find it fun too, I'm sure. Just go and make yourself a cup of tea first and find a cozy corner to curl up and enjoy the read.
