Behind The Boudoir Doors
It's Groundhog day. Puxhatawney Phil saw his shadow. It's gonna stay cold. Blah! Blah! Blah! The big news is the Oscar noms. It's my favorite early morning of the year. I got up early and had tea and a blueberry muffin in bed while waiting to hear who was going to be in the running this year. Next to Christmas, Oscar Nom day may be my favorite holiday. Actress Anne Hathaway joined the AMPAS President to make the announcements. The 82nd Academy Awards will be held March 7. Why yes, I do have it marked on my calendar. Don't you?

Rainy Days and Mondays...
Not even a song by Karen Carpenter could make me feel better this morning. Nor a story about glass slippers. I hope this feeling passes soon...[Editor's Note: I may have finally found the cure for a dasterdly case of the Mondays. ]

Baby, I've Got Work To Do
When I leave for work in the morning, I always tell Roxy that I'll be back soon. She never responds. I think that's a good thing. She does have several activities that engage her while I am gone. She does arts & crafts in the bathroom. She chases toys in the living room, and chews opens bags in the kitchen. Her new activity is sitting on a trunk in the bedroom looking out at the world. I wonder what she sees.Wednesday, January 27, 2010

There's A Full Moon On The Rise
I am afraid of the dark. I don't like spiders, and I freely admit to often feeling claustraphobic in elevators and other rooms that lack essential elements -- like windows or clearly marked exits. And now I have to add one more fear to my list -- that my racing suit is going to split while I'm trying to qualify for the 2010 Olympics. Thank God, that the only Olympics that I can ever qualify for is in my rich imagination. I have seen several versions of this video on the Internet, including one that adds farting noise (seems a little too 'on the nose', doesn't it?) and one that includes the uncontrollable giggles of the people standing behind her. I decided this was the most tasteful of the bunch -- yes, I AM using the theory of relativity. This delightful video reminds me of my favorite video of Matt Lauer and Al Roker learning to luge. There should be a link to it here. I think it's because they giggle little little girls all the way down the hill that makes it so funny.
